How do employees apply for leave?
Employees select a leave type, start date, and end date, add an optional reason, and submit — the system automatically calculates the total number of days requested.
Can we create custom leave types like unpaid or sick leave?
Yes. Configure any number of leave types (Casual Leave, Sick Leave, Unpaid Leave, etc.), each with its own default annual day allotment and whether it's paid or unpaid.
What happens after a manager approves a leave request?
The request status updates to Approved, the approver and approval time are recorded for audit purposes, and if the leave type is unpaid, it's automatically factored into the employee's next payslip as loss-of-pay.
